Money doesn’t buy elegance and that’s a fact. Elegance comes from within, from training and from the desire to want to rise above the mass. I have always been the type who didn’t want to look like everybody or do what others were doing. I always wanted to be myself and now, I want to help you try to be the same.

We live in a world where so many are focused on following trends, spending money on famous brands to show others their worth. You don’t need to do any of that. You can look good and feel good without spending hundreds and thousands of dollars. The way you look to others is not only what you have on the outside. What comes from within is what really shines, trust me.

Here are 5 simple tips for you to look and feel like a million bucks:

1- Create a Versatile and Elegant Wardrobe

Investing in your wardrobe is not only fun but necessary. You don’t have to shop the most expensive designers out there. Instead, think of quality pieces that can transcend time and can be matched and mismatched with other pieces. If you can afford designer clothing, why not? But try not to focus too much on that. In all honesty, some people look more like walking billboards than anything when they try to wear and show all the designer pieces they have into one outfit. Not elegant or classy at all.

Come up with a plan and a way to follow that plan. Think about your day-to-day and create a list with the types of occasions you need clothing for and go from there. Think of what you need to go to work, weekends, special occasions and around the house.

2- Learn to Use Make Up to Enhance Your Beauty and Not Mask It

Make up is essential to making you look polished and more beautiful than you already are. A more natural look is always recommended regardless of time of day. A trip to your favorite make up store can feel like a treat while you do your research to find out what works for you. Any make up artist will point you in the right direction if you ask for options for a natural look for your skin type. Again, there is no need to overspend here.

3- Fragrance Is Your Best Friend

One item that is often overlooked is fragrance and does it make a difference? Choose one fragrance to be used during the day and one for going out at night. During the day you want something a little lighter and crisp. Something that will make you smell good and clean but nothing too overpowering or sweet. At night, however, you can be a little more bold and go for a richer scent.

4- Etiquette is a Must

Elegance and manners are two words that go together and one can’t exist without the other. I am not saying you have to become Queen Elizabeth or Price Charles but I am saying that you need to know the basic rules of etiquette. These are universal and come in very handy in many occasions. You need to know how to behave at a dining table and don’t tell me this is common sense because it is not. There are ways to eat different types of food and things you do and do not at the table. There are also ways to interact with people of different ages, professional backgrounds, and diplomatic or government entities and the term for this is protocol. I am a firm believer in being yourself and not following certain rules. However, for you to break rules you need to know what the rules are. To carry yourself with poise and elegance you must be able to maneuver social and professional gatherings regardless of where you are in the world.

5- Be Confident

It goes without saying that everything you do needs to come across naturally. You can dress in the most elegant way, learn all the etiquette rules in the world but if you are not confident, none of these tips will help. In the end, you have to be comfortable being yourself. Of course now you will be a more elegant self, however, your level of confidence is what will take you to the next level. It’s extremely important that you believe in yourself and behave like so. There is nothing more elegant and chic than someone who can carry him/herself with poise and confidence. Following the above tips will help you boost your confidence and self esteem but you have to trust yourself and know who you are and what you stand for. I am not saying it is easy or it is something that will happen overnight. All this takes training and habit but, in the end, it will be more than worth it.

As you can see, for you to turn into a more elegant version of yourself you don’t need to spend a lot of money. Elegance is an acquired habit and something that comes from within. I can assure you that elegance can help you achieve a lot of your goals in becoming more confident, successful and happy!
