Dear Heather,
I do not even know how to start thanking you for all you have done for me professionally and personally. Back in 2004 you interviewed me for a job I applied in your department. The chemistry was incredible. I cannot believe we talked for almost two hours. Maybe more. Thank you for making me feel so comfortable as I was trying to find a permanent job inside Turner Broadcasting. I did not get the job with you and got really sad. However, two weeks later I got a call from Cartoon Network inviting me for an interview. I had no idea how because I had not applied with them. Well, when I got to the interview I found out you had recommended me. I was so surprised and so grateful. I am beyond grateful because you changed the course of my career. Had it not been for you, I would not be the professional I am today. Thank you.
Thank you for being one of the kindest people I know. You are one of those people only a few have a chance to be around. I am so lucky and so grateful we met. I am beyond grateful you recommended me to Cartoon Network where I worked for one year and a half. That was a dream job! Thank you for always staying in touch with me and being my mentor when I was at CNN. I am grateful I had you as a mentor in a formal circle mentoring but also one-on-one. Thank you for making time to have coffee with me even to this day. For an executive as busy as you I cannot thank you enough for finding time to be with me and to share your knowledge and wisdom not only as a media professional but as a woman. I admire you so much.ย
I admire your positive attitude, your willingness to help those who are in need and, most of all, I admire you as a mother. Yes, you are so many things and you do them all so well. I am grateful to have you in my life. Today happens to be your birthday so I wanted to write this letter to thank you for all the influence you had, and continue to have, in my life.
